General Courses

The following courses are offered to all levels.

Arts & Crafts

Eagle’s arts and crafts class offer students the opportunity to create art, learn about colours, and how to utilize various art supplies such as crayons and glue. This course aims to improve students’ fine motor skills and enhance their creativity.

Park Time

We take our students to the park for some fresh air when the weather permits. Park play allows students to interact with others and strengthens friendships. It also helps children to develop various social skills and improves their gross motor skills.

Circle Time

Every month children learn different songs and dances associated with the theme of the month. Music strengthens children’s sensory development and memory whereas dancing helps with improving their coordination and self-expression.

Exercise Time

Eagle combines exercises with easy chants to help children to not only stay active, but to also learn a variety of verbs each month. Associating actions with words helps children to learn new vocabularies much faster and remember them better.

TV Time

For 10 minutes a day we watch Disney movies with our students. A variety of media input exposes students to natural English conversations and improves their listening skills. We make sure that every movie we show carry valuable life lessons such as love, failure, courage, and perseverance.

Story Time

The aim of Story Time is help our students to develop their passion for reading. This is a fun interactive time between the teacher and the students. Questions are asked throughout the story to improve students’ critical thinking skills and ability to analyze situations.

Free-Play

Free-play is a very important time for children. It fosters their creativity, imagination, and their ability to make decisions such as “what should I play today?” It also teaches them how to share toys, take turns, face conflicts, and other social skills.

Morning Greetings

Morning Greetings class is the first class of the day. This is a time for students to greet each other and the teachers. We sing various songs and learn about today’s weather, the day of the week, and the date. Students develop a good grasp of the calendar and is able to to answer to questions such as “how’s the weather?” “what day is it today?” and “what’s the date?”

Level-Specific Courses

We offer 5 different levels in our kindergarten program which are organized based on students’ abilities. In this way, children are able to move at their own pace regardless of their current age.

Level 1

Approximately age 1.5-2

Phonics/Reading

 

This class focuses on the alphabet and recognizing the sounds that each letter makes.

Writing

 

Your child will practice tracing letters, words, and their names as well as learn how to properly hold a pencil and write letters correctly. By the end of this class, they will be able to write by themselves.

Mathematics

 

This class focuses on counting, recognizing written numbers, comparing numbers, and recognizing basic shapes. During math homework time they will learn to write numbers as well as practice the skills they learn in class.

Conversation

Level 2

Approximately age 3

Phonics/Reading

 

This class focuses on basic phonics and the alphabet. At this level, students begin to read and write simple three-letter words. Using pictures and vocabulary flashcards, listening activities, games, and tests, the students are able to identify new words and sounds easily. Students in this level also begin to write in their textbooks.

Writing

 

Your child will practice writing letters, words, and their names as well as learn how to properly hold a pencil and write letters correctly. At the beginning of this class, the students write three-letter words and by the end, they can write full sentences.

Mathematics

 

This class focuses on counting, recognizing written numbers, comparing numbers, and recognizing basic shapes, and other basic math concepts. By the end of this level, they will learn to do simple addition. During math homework time they will learn to write numbers as well as practice the skills they learn in class.

Conversation

Level 3

Approximately age 4

Phonics/Reading

 

This class focuses on basic phonics and the alphabet. At this level, students can read and write three letter words and continue writing sentences.This class builds off of the level 2 class, by introducing consonant blends. Students learn longer, more complex words and sentences.

Your child will practice writing words and sentences on their own. The teachers demonstrate how to properly write on dotted lines with spaces between each word.

This class focuses on counting, recognizing written numbers, comparing numbers, and recognizing basic shapes. By the end of this level, they will learn to do simple subtraction. During math homework time they will refine their math skills learned in class by doing addition and subtraction worksheets. Depending on the level of the students currently in the class, they may continue on to learn double-digit addition with carry-over and subtraction with borrowing.

Conversation

Level 4

Approximately age 5-6
